About Small Potatoes

Everything you need to know about your
small but mighty commissary.

Located in East Vancouver’s Strathcona neighbourhood, SP grew its roots in the Vancouver food scene organically. We started across the street from the Sugar Factory on the inlet, in a building that was once a mid-century vinegar factory. We’re currently nestled amongst coffee roasters, bread makers, restaurant suppliers, and breweries for days.

The Small Story

We’ve been through it all…

What started in 2010 as a small sandwich delivery service called Betty Baguette, evolved into a one-stop, full-service lunch provider. Blending her love of food and all things green, Lillie created The Square Meal: fresh, from-scratch, package-free lunch buffets geared toward Vancouver’s tech crowd. Just 3 months shy of what would have been our ‘decade in food service’ landmark, Covid-19 hit. To say it hit hard would be an understatement.

With 100% of our contracts frozen indefinitely, it was time to come up with a new plan. Small Potatoes was born out of disaster and fuelled by hope, the support of family, friends, community, and above all else, a deep desire to continue to contribute and foster Vancouver’s world-class food scene.

Meet Lillie

Lillie started her career in food after studying at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. After a dinner party conversation spurred her to open a small sandwich delivery company in 2010, she's become an industry veteran passionate about plant based eating, zero waste initiatives, and... food.

Always, always food.
